Protests for HK47

Protests were held on 26 November in London (see picture), Nottingham, and other UK locations on the eve of the resumption of the National Security mass trial of the Hong Kong 47. After much delay, the trial now looks likely to move to a conclusion within weeks.

The 47 are charged with subversion simply for participating in the election primaries of the pro-democracy camp in June 2020. They have been jailed since 2021, and include many leaders of the Hong Kong trade union movement as it was before Beijing repression. The protests were called by the new Workers Against the CCP
campaign coalition.
