Hi, how do you relate to the existing 'Hackney Independent' group, which aims to be 'a voice for working class people', which gets involved in grass roots organising, publishes a news-sheet, and contests elections, just as you plan to? Are you duplicating efforts, or has there been some disagreement?

There is a geographical difference - they operate in a different part of Hackney. But there is also a political difference. 'Hackney Solidarity' is an explicitly socialist newsletter, whereas you won't find the S-word in HI's publications.

HI, by the way, used to the part of the Independent Working Class Association. I admire a great deal of what they do, but have some criticisms too. Read more about that in another of my articles on this website.
