More action on DLR, strike ballot on LU Fleet...

DLR Interserve cleaners will strike again, from 8-10 June, in their campaign for pay justice. They held a solid strike from 27-29 May, but Interserve aren't playing ball, so workers will have to continue speaking in the only language bosses understand: industrial action.

Directly-employed DLR staff are voting on a pay offer from Keolis Amey Docklands (KAD), the contractor that runs the DLR. The offer is for a three-year deal, with a 2% increase in year one (with a guaranteed minimum increase of £750 for the lowest-paid), and increases of 1.5% or the rate of RPI (whichever is higher) in years two and three. KAD was forced to make the improved offer after a resounding vote for strikes by DLR staff. The ballot on the deal closes on 16 June.

RMT is also balloting LU Fleet workers for strikes against the use of agency labour. LU plans to higher agency trainers at the Ruislip Depot. If they follow through with their plans, it's important the union maintains a "sack the agencies, not the workers" approach to the dispute.

The Fleet ballot is due back on 30 June, the same time RMT, TSSA, ASLEF, and Unite ballots in jobs, pay, and Night Tube disputes are expected to return.
