Netanyahu’s plan to annex over 60% of the West Bank to Israel would block off the national rights of the Palestinians and confine them to over 160 separate small patches of land surrounded by Israeli military power. The Palestinian people have the right to self-determination, in their own state alongside Israel. Israel should withdraw from the West Bank and end the blockade of Gaza.

Peace is possible only on the basis of mutual recognition of rights. Israel also has a right to exist, and a solution by means of Hamas’s program of destroying Israel and the “right of return” of Palestinians to repossess what is now Israel is neither possible nor just.
