Having gone online I discovered a copy of Solidarity that was not delivered and caught up on my reading---particularly John Cunningham's article on Eastern Europe-- a startling and revealing article on the interstitial events that post- Stalin states undergo, especially Hungary. The exit of Britain from the EU merely emphasises the need for an extension of Democracy across Europe instead of the crass retreat from engagement we have experienced. The turgid and neo-liberal politics of Britain seems to have echoes as far as Eastern Europe!
