George Galloway missed the vote on the government's anti-terror laws on Wednesday because he was doing his one-man show in Ireland. That's the vote where the government won by just one vote - the closest it has come to losing a vote since it was elected in 1997.
As MPs debated the Terrorism Bill, Galloway was preparing to appear at the Everyman Palace Theatre, Cork. Cost - up to EUR23 (£15.50) to see "An Audience with George Galloway MP". Was it worth it?
Others who failed to vote the bill down include Austin Mitchell, Labour MP for Great Grimsby and a member of the Socialist Campaign Group of MPs (abstained) and Paul Flynn, Labour MP for Newport West (voted for). Lib-Dem Vince Cable also missed the vote because he was outside talking to Make Poverty History campaigners.
Lobby your MP!
Interestingly, Respect is urging people to lobby their MP to vote against the Terrorism Bill. Let's hope sufficient residents of Bethnal Green and Bow follow this call in order to persuade their MP to actually turn up for the next vote.
