Wasn't there something in the stations shorter working week deal about setting up a special events team?
It seems that the only time it got mentioned was when local reps objected to staffing cuts for stations which frequently cope with special events, when management used this hypothetical team as a pretext to dismiss reps' concerns. You know the sort of thing: "No we don't need more than a handful of duties on this station on a Saturday because if there's a special event, the special events team will come down."
But the team has not materialised, and there is as yet no sign of it. So perhaps it's time to re-open all the local negotiations.
