Today, support staff at Ash Field Academy in Leicester are once again on strike to demand that management stop victimising their union rep, Tom Barker.
Following previous strikes, once again a lively picket gathered outside the school. The support staff strikers were joined by Unison activists from other workplaces, and by NEU members showing solidarity.
Union General Secretary Andrea Egan attended and discussed the strike with the workers. NEU Executive member (and Membership & Equalities Officer elect) Louise Lewis was also there.
If the dispute can keep up this level of solidarity, it will be in a good position to win.
On Sunday from 5pm until 7pm, a poetry gig at Leicester's Phoenix Theatre will raise money for the strike fund. Information and tickets are available here.
