Hundreds of millions of pounds of public money were spent on the recent coronation, to perpetuate an institution based on undemocratic hereditary power and privilege. Meanwhile, republican protesters were arrested.

This meeting will discuss the politics behind the pomp, and make the case for why our unions should fight for the abolition of the monarchy as part of a wider struggle to expand democracy.
