Shaping up to face the crisis

The 2009 Alliance for Workers’ Liberty conference (30-31 May) took place as we see the further development of the political crisis following on from the economic crisis of capitalism. Our debates mapped out the tasks we face in the changed political situation and how we need to improve our ability to intervene.

AWL conference 2009: “express more clearly”

The AWL should resolve to express more clearly what we stand for and what our purpose is. We need to convince people more effectively of our politics and of the reasons that they should join us. We resolve to assess how we write, speak and present ourselves with a view to achieving this.

We should also assess how people who we wish to attract see us, and identify ways of overcoming unnecessary obstacles between our potential recruits and the AWL.
