Socialists celebrate May Day in London

An international solidarity event organised on 3 May in London by Marxist Revival (an international project of the Alliance for Workers' Liberty and the Iranian Revolutionary Marxists' Tendency) heard speakers from around the world, live or via video clips.

Pictured below are Jade Baker of AWL (chairing); Alejandra Rios; representing the Left Workers' Front of Argentina; Urszula Lugowska and August Grabski of Dalej (Poland); Maziar Razi (IRMT); and Dashty Jamal of the Worker-communist Party of Kurdistan.

The meeting also heard messages from Edwin Sesange of the Association for International Workers' Solidarity (UID-DER) in Turkey; from Traven Leyshon, an activist with the US revolutionary socialist organisation Solidarity; and from Lalit, a socialist group in Mauritius. The evening concluded with Kurdish food and dancing, with proceeds going to the Kurdish Construction Workers' Organisation.
