Walmart workers struck or took other direct action at over 1,000 stores across 46 states, as part of a national strike targeting “Black Friday”, one of the retailer’s busiest shopping days.
The strike was part of an ongoing campaign for better working conditions and against management bullying and intimidation of workers who speak out.
In Paramount, California, over 1,500 people gathered for a protest, with smaller actions taking place at stores across America. Many workers walked out despite intimidation and threats from managers.
Dominic Ware, a striker from a store in San Leandro, California, said: “No matter what Walmart says, we’re winning.”
