Workers' Liberty

The following motion, moved by Workers' Liberty member Sofie Buckland, was passed by the National Executive of the National Union of Students on Thursday 21/02/08. The same text could be used for motions to trade union branches.

We note:

1. Kosova declared independence from Serbia on Sunday 17 February 2008.

We believe:

1. We support the right to self-determination of Kosova, and condemn the pressure and threats against Kosovar self-determination from Serbia and Russia.
2. We also condemn the mistreatment of the Serbian minority in Kosova, and believe that the people of the Serbian-majority area in northern Kosova, bordering on Serbia, should have the right to secede if they want to.
