Jerome Bowes' workmates are escalating the fight for his reinstatement, with RMT balloting Elephant & Castle drivers so that they can join station staff on the next strike.

Many drivers know and like Jerome, but whether they know him or not, can see the blatant injustice in his sacking. It has come to light that there have been cases in which white station staff have been involved in incidents similar to that which led to Jerome's sacking, but who did not lose their jobs.

All Elephant drivers should vote Yes. But with only one of the two unions at only one of the two depots being balloted, we will need to use effective picketing to make an effective strike. And then, if needs be, escalate the action still further.
