The Milk Of Human Kindness

You know that medical advice that you are not supposed to move someone who has a serious injury or health problem? It apparently might not apply if managers are keen to get the service running again.

When an unfortunate passenger had a heart attack on a Northern line train at Goodge Street last Wednesday, the staff attending wanted to keep him on the train whilst waiting for medical assistance, like you should. The control room was glad to oblige - all other trains were in platforms, so it's not like there was a trainload of people stuck in the pipe with their health and well-being at risk too.

But was this good enough for management? Oh no: surely, they insisted, the poor chap could be hauled off the train onto the platform so that the service could resume. Do you have to have a humanity bypass to get into a management job?!
