Like most stations, Embankment was just about struggling by with the skeleton staffing levels it was left with in the wake of the 35-hour week: in the peak, two CSAs on the gateline, one on each of two platforms.

But now a big cheese District line manager has decided to stick his oar in and announce that another platform needed SATs duties too. Which would have been welcome, had he meant that the station would get the additional staff too. But no, he meant that one of the CSAs previously on the gateline had to go on the platform instead, leaving one poor soul dealing with the constant heavy flow of passengers on his/her own, and all the CSAs spending an uncomfortably high proportion of their time on platforms.

Embankment staff may find themselves having to refuse to put themselves in a situation which presents serious and imminent danger.
