Recent reports from new CSAs coming out of Ashfield House say that they only get five full days of training now! What a contrast to the month of intensive training gained by many older members of staff back when London Underground was bothered about running a railway.
It's obviously cheaper to train us less, but management must know that it will be easier to argue for their agenda of replacing us with agency staff if the current pool of workers are de-skilled already. It could also lead to us having less pride in our jobs and being more willing to roll over when attacks on our conditions come.
New CSAs are also passing out with a POMs licence to service the ticket machines. So they won't give us enough training to do our own job, but they will train us to do somebody else's? All part of preparing for when they have got rid of ticket office staff.
Everywhere we look, the issues behind the current dispute are relevant, and we will have to fight hard to defeat management's obvious agenda.
