Rally to defend Muslims and mosques!

Anti-Fascism

Bigots, racists, and fascists are seizing on the reaction to the 7 July bombings in London to launch attacks on Muslim people.

What we said in our first reaction to the bombings is now urgent: “We call on the labour movement to mobilise for physical defence wherever mosques or Muslim neighbourhoods are attacked by racists feeding on the backlash against the bombs”.

Trade union branches should contact local Muslim community groups and mosques to offer support and assistance in physical defence against the bigots.

Kamal Raza Butt was beaten to death by racists who first called him “Taliban” in Nottingham on Sunday 10 July. Mosques have been set on fire in Leeds, Belvedere in Kent, Birkenhead in Merseyside, and Telford in Shropshire, and there have been many smaller-scale attacks in other areas.

The bombers, on the evidence, were followers of al-Qaeda, a particular reactionary political group. Al-Qaeda is a variant of political Islamism, a political movement which seeks to create, by force, a state run according to what the Islamists say are the rules of the Koran, written 1400 years ago.

Across the world, people of Muslim background are the main victims – and the main opponents – of groups like al-Qaeda in the countries where they are active. Predictably, Muslims were among those killed by the 7 July bombings.

To attack Muslims at random because of the crimes of al-Qaeda is as stupid and vile as attacking Christians at random because of the crimes of Franco’s fascism in Spain. Political Islam is a very different matter from everyday Muslim religious observance.

We stand in solidarity with Muslims, and people of Muslim background, in Britain under threat from anti-Muslim racists – just as we also stand in solidarity with the trade union movements and socialist parties which fight in the front line against political Islam in the countries where it is strongest.

Murdering Muslims !

You anti White racists are as guilty of the London murders as the evil Muslim bombers. Pakistani youths all over the country are dancing in the streets in celebration, their evil parents looking on with pride ! But of course you will choose to ignore this act of blatant treachery, won't you ?

Fuck Off Anonymous

Only in your head "Pakistani youths all over the country are dancing in the streets in celebration, their evil parents looking on with pride !"
All asians and arabs, particularly muslims, that I have spoken to and seen interviewed on television are as unequivocal in their condemnation and are as sickened by this bombing as everyone else is.
As are the Muslim Council of Britain in this unequivocal statement.
"The Muslim Council of Britain utterly condemns today's indiscriminate acts of terror in London. These evil deeds make victims of us all. It is our humanity that must bring us shoulder to shoulder to condemn, to oppose and to overcome those who would spread fear, hatred and death."

The people who will use this bombing to divide muslims from the rest of society are white racists like you, and extreme Islamists like the bombers. It is you who has much in common with the bombers, not us.

Now go and crawl back in to your hole.

In response to Murdering Muslims!

My goodness what a sad and ignorant person you are. Did you read that muslims were actually killed in this act of terror? I have a sneaking suspicion that you don't know any Pakistani youths or any youths of colour at all. I have another sneaking suspicion which tells me that you have absolutely no knowledge of the Islamic faith or its principles. My third and final sneaking suspician is that you have always and will always be a vicious poisonous racist and you feel that it is now okay to pollute the internet with your sheer and utter crap. I can only hope that you live alone on an island where no one has to listen to you and that your island will sink within the next 24 hours. If anyone is to be sent packing from this country it is small minded ignorant and pathetic losers like you.
P.S. I am a white person of no particular faith - not that this will be of any interest to you because you just hate everybody.

anonymous go to hell

Quit trying to flood this site with your shitting racist propaganda. It's only the terrorist that are doing this. You know absolutely nothing about culture and probably don't have any friends.

muslims

I was HIGHLY amused by your hysterical defence of muslims!!!, wasn't it Marx who said, "religion is the opiate of the masses", it also occurred to me that if the muslims had their way, the flag waving woman at the top of the page would be wearing a burkah, lol.
you people are political nonentities, your votes at general elections are counted in DOZENS, hehehehe.
up the workers!!
mike.

You're Still Not Welcome, Mike.

Marx did indeed say "religion is the opiate of the masses", and I agree with him.
I don't recall him saying "start racist witch hunting of people on the basis of their religious beliefs".

"if the muslims had their way, the flag waving woman at the top of the page would be wearing a burkah"

Most muslim women don't wear burkahs. Some political islamists want to force women to wear burkahs, and we oppose them.
