Rushing Through Re-Licensing

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

We were recently telling you about under-staffing causing problems with getting drivers re-licensed. Seems this affects other grades too.

Out on the Barkingside group, managers have been trying it on with staff, telling them that the company has "done away with" the requirement for 28 days' notice of ATOR and claiming that now you only need 5 days'.

On Kennington group, management seem to think you can go through a 'pack' with a local manager, then go on ATOR at some point in the future.

Why? There are not enough training places for ATOR, and not enough staff to enable release.

The solution? Rather than rushing staff through inadequate re-licensing, how about creating more training places and increasing staff numbers?! Er, but that would cost money, wouldn't it? Cutting corners is so much cheaper and easier.
