The Falsie Has Landed
Today I got my new eye. If you are logged in to this site, you can see a picture of it. What d'you reckon?
It feels pretty uncomfortable at the moment. It's going to take a couple of weeks to get used to it, increasing wearing time from a couple of hours per day until I have it in from when I wake up until I go to bed.
I store it overnight in a dry box, wash it with soap or washing-up liquid in the morning, then rinse it with contact lens fluid and pop it in. Simple as that. Once a year, it's back to Moorfields for the annual polish, and it'll need to be replaced every six years or so - requiring more of the cold wax moulding that I enjoyed so much in August.
The kids have been playing about with it so are less spooked than when they first saw it this afternoon. Harrison has now learned that it is not a gobstopper.
Sadly, I can't actually see through it. But the comic potential is already obvious.

Going back to Moorfields
Going back to Moorfields every few years is good - it means that you'll be able to get the upgrades for shooting laser beams out of it and stuff!

I was thinking x-ray vision would be cool.
Or possibly, instead of having an iris and pupil painted on the acrylic eyeball, I could have a shape, pattern or even slogan instead.
