LUL Pay: Why Are We Waiting?

LUL Pay 2006

So management have officially amended their pay offer to three years. Could this be the latest salvo in the haggling exercise that Tubeworker has already expressed concerns about?

Management says this is their final offer. So there is no excuse now for the unions not to act. RMT has been 'in dispute' with the company since August 23rd, so members have been expecting a strike ballot. Time to get on with it, we'd say.

Tube workers know full well the dangers of a three-year deal, leaving us unable to fight year on year to defend our conditions. And even if some multi-year deals might be worth it, this offer certainly isn't, with pay rises only a fraction of a percent above RPI.

And on top of that, there is this ridiculous performance-related bonus, where we would get an extra bit of money if some randomly-selected customers say they are satisfied. If LUL can afford to pay out a bonus, it can afford to put the money into a proper pay rise.
