The Ghost of 'Outsourcing' Returns

Stop Transfers From Metronet To Bombardier 2005-07

As part of PPP, all new trains introduced by Metonet on BCV and SLL will be built and maintained by multi-national corporation Bombardier.

Bombardier, forgetting that the slave trade was abolished 199 years ago, assumed that they could take over ownership of the fleet workforce too. But last year, a threat of strike action by RMT members forced Metronet into an agreement that no-one could be transferred to a new employer without their agreement and 'outsourcing' of workers was shelved.

But its ghost has now awoken, as Bombardier are challenging the legitimacy of Metonet having signed this agreement with RMT.

Stand by for a fight.
