Statement to announce the founding of the "Leftist Worker-communist Party of Iraq"
The Leftist Worker-communist Party of Iraq is an Internationalist Marxist party which aims at organizing the social revolution in Iraq and achieves socialism. The Leftist Worker-communist Party of Iraq belongs to the Worker Communism movement and declares 'Better World' as its program. The Party struggles for a better world, which is not based on exploitation, slavery, or humiliation of the human being. The party endeavors immediately to achieve socialism; i.e. the abolishing of wage labor and private property of the means of production through social revolution. This is the main characteristic of the Worker Communist Party.

The Leftist Worker-communist Party of Iraq, believes that communism is an existing movement and an objective endeavor for struggle inside the working class in Iraq and worldwide. The party struggles to organize working class and people of Iraq for the social revolution, seizing of political power and the immediate declaration of Socialist Republic.

This party is founded by communists who believe that the current leadership of the Worker Communist Party of Iraq – WCPI, had abandoned the revolutionary and socialist tradition of Worker Communism as laid out by its founder, Mansoor Hekmat.

This is the main difference between our party, the Leftist Worker-communist Party of Iraq and the existing Worker Communist Party of Iraq-WCPI. The leadership of the latter had joined the ranks of a rightist tendency in the communist movement represented by the so-called Hekmatist's Party in Iran which was fractioned from the Worker-communist Party of Iran – WPI.

The rightist inclination of that trend is clearly shown through its political treatise in which it casts off two major issues; revolution and socialism. The founding declaration of so-called Hekmatist Party denounces socialist revolution and postpones it until after seizing of political power!

According to this rightist trend, socialism is neither applicable nor eminent because people do not incline to it. This trend denounces the revolution as the most ideal and practical way of overthrowing the bourgeois state. Revolution according to this trend is a violent act which must be replaced with civil methods such as civil disobedience, diplomacy, political bargaining, and negotiation with the bourgeoisie in order to get to power. These theses were clearly announced by the rightist trend in course of inner polemics in the Worker-communist party of Iran.

In addition to that, that rightist trend, had issued an announcement which it called 'the declaration of 21 members'. In that announcement, a clear anti-communism sentiment is unequivocally expressed. The leadership of the Worker Communist Party of Iraq - WCPI had fully supported this anti-communism document.

If the policies of the Worker Communist Party of Iraq were to be consistent and persistent within the framework of this rightist trend in Iraq, this, independent of the intentions of its followers, would lead the party to be an impediment in achieving the socialist revolution in Iraq. This is a dangerous indication that this leadership had sacrificed, and will further expose the social base of Worker Communism in Iraq to grave dangers.

In this regard, the Leftist Worker-communist Party of Iraq will defend worker communism in Iraq with all its ability against any attempts to deviate its course or lower its socialist revolutionary banner.

The Leftist Worker-communist Party of Iraq calls upon all people of Iraq, all workers, and all freedom and equality lovers to join its ranks.
