The National Fire Service
I am a firefighter in a major brigade who has served many years.
I have been unable to connect to UK-FIRE for several months.
I am aware of political problems with my union officals and this site.
PLEASE can someone direct me to a website I can discuss the massive changes we are all experiencing in a forum where we are free to give our views and opinions.

fire escape
i live in a terraced house that has been converted into 4 floors including room in the basement and the loft. our flat is the top two floors. what is the legal regulation concerning a fire escape? do we have to be provided with one? the only escape is the stairs to the front door, the only exit for us in the property. besides jumping from windows, should we be fitted with a fire escape? no windows open onto a flat roof, and every potential jump from one of 3 windows of the first story have no discernable landing place as there is building site surrounding the property. is this allowed or is it just 'tough?'
