LUL Dismisses Vicky Hayward Appeal - Time For Action!

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

Vicky Hayward remains sacked after management threw out her Appeal. Once again, managers closed ranks and sided with each other to deny justice to a member of staff. The company's entire "case" against Vicky - such as it is - consists of believing everything that a manager speculates and disbelieving everything that Vicky says.

Vicky has done nothing wrong. She had a accident at work. A local manager decided that she made it up and concocted a biased and incomplete "investigation" to back up his prejudgment.

Scraping the barrel for any evidence of wrongdoing (there was no evidence because there was no wrongdoing), management relied on emails from themselves as to what CCTV footage showed (or, in this case, didn't show), while the footage itself was not available because the download system had a fault which had not been repaired even though it had been reported!

What a farce. This is a threat to all of us - if LUL gets away with this, then none of us is safe from a manager who takes a dislike to us and fancies fabricating a "case" against us.

With LUL confirming the injustice of its original CDI decision at the Appeal, it is now time to take action to concentrate their minds for the Director's Review. RMT branches are already calling for an all-grades ballot for industrial action over this and other sackings - this has now become more urgent.
