Hidden in the back of the latest Traffic Circular, there is a section entitled: ‘changes to part time customer service positions’. It lists 'positions removed', i.e. jobs that have been abolished: two at Paddington Sub; one at Barkingside and one at Leytonstone.
LU can't just 'delete' positions! Not content with removing 953 from stations at present, is it adding a few more to the total by the back door in the hope that we won't notice?
We need to be vigilant for all such moves. LU might feel confident to sneak through a lot of changes at present, but a strong show of industrial and political action in the coming months will dent their confidence.
There are nearly 33 former agency workers, and millions of unemployed people who would give their eye for London Underground part time CSA posts. Has LU thought to advertise these jobs before deleting them?
