Iraq seems to be dissolving into sectarian civil war. The Iraqi government backed by Iran and the US acts more and more openly as a Shia-sectarian regime, while huge swathes of the country are run as a Sunni-sectarian religious state by the ultra-Islamists of ISIS.

How did this happen? Was it the inevitable result of the US-UK invasion and overthrow of Saddam Hussein? What is going on in Iraq?

How can we support the emergence of a secular, anti-sectarian, working-class Third Camp in Iraq? What are Iraqi socialist, trade union and women's organisations doing and how can we help them? And what should we say about Kurdistan?
