is a resource centre for Londoners fighting health and safety hazards in their workplace and community. This site is for union and community organisers anywhere who need health and safety information. Elections will take place for up to six places on the Management Council to be Directors and Trustees of the charity. Only fully paid up organisations will be eligible to send a delegate, make nominations and vote at this meeting. Nomination forms have been sent to secretaries of affiliates. If you haven't received a form and believe you are a fully paid up affiliate, e-mail: admin@lhc.org.uk. We are asking member organisations to encourage black, Asian and minority ethnic members to stand, especially if they have been active on health and safety in the community or workplace. We currently have no representation from such members, even though work with BAME communities is to be a main focus of our work for London Councils, and we would greatly appreciate your help in this. Vacancies at London Hazards Centre We have now signed the four year funding agreement with London Councils to focus our advice and training on women, black, Asian and ethnic minority communities, and trade unions. We will shortly be recruiting two part-time workers. Details and an application form will be available here shortly. Our latest Newsletters

Migrant and Refugee Worker Support London Hazard Centre offers advice and support to refugee and migrant workers Abuse of worker's
employment rights (including health & safety rights) by employers is rife
for refugees and migrant workers. They often have rates of pay less than
the minimum wage and endure long and illegal working hours. Accidents
and injuries have always been high amongst this group of workers as the
Morecambe Bay and other tragedies have highlighted. The London Hazards
Centre makes this sector of our community a priority for our services. If you want to make a donation to help us do this work click here |
