The Exmouth Arms, Starcross Street, Euston (London NW1)
Organised by Off the Rails and Workers' Liberty
As a fundraiser for striking Tube cleaners, supporters of the rank-and-file rail workers' magazine Off the Rails and the socialist group Workers' Liberty are organising a showing of the film The Navigators.
Directed by Ken Loach and written by socialist rail worker Rob Dawber, who died of a rare form of cancer after his bosses had him work with asbestos, The Navigators highlights the nature of capitalism by telling the story of what railway privatisation meant for workers in the industry.
For more on the Tube cleaners' dispute, see here, and the latest issue of the rank-and-file bulletin Tubeworker.
Please note: This meeting had been originally scheduled as fundraiser for the Spanish Miners' Solidarity Committee, but the SMSC suspended its fundraising activities on 4 August following the end of the Spanish miners' strike.
Suggested donation £5 waged, £2.50 unwaged
Food from buffet for £1.50/£1.
