A London AWL forum
From privatised school-building to its obsession with testing, from academies and trust schools to attacking education workers’ pay and conditions, New Labour has reshaped our school system in line with the needs of business. Now the Tories want to go even further, eradicating more and more elements of democratic control and child-centred learning.
Come and discuss the changes taking place in our school system, how we can oppose them - and how we can develop our own alternative vision of what education should be like.
Speakers:
Jean Lane, teaching assistant and Tower Hamlets Unison assistant secretary
Tali Janner-Klausner, London School Students’ Union
Joe Flynn, secondary teacher and Croydon NUT activist
