Meet at King's Cross WH Smith, 12pm
Facebook event here.
The RMT is currently balloting all of its driver members for strike action as part of a campaign against victimisation. RMT reps Eamonn Lynch and Arwyn Thomas were sacked on totally spurious grounds in what was a clear attack on them as activists and the union as a whole; a strong 'yes' vote and a solid strike action will show London Underground management that drivers will not not tolerate anti-union victimisation and sackings of their workmates and could win Eamonn and Arwyn's jobs back.
The rank-and-file bulletin Tubeworker, produced monthly for over 20 years by Workers' Liberty members and other radical trade unionists working on the tube, is campaigning hard for a 'yes' vote in the strike ballot, as well as trying to relate to ASLEF members and non-union drivers to pull them into the campaign as well.
On Saturday 16 April, Workers' Liberty is organising a special 'distribution day' where we'll be distributing the bulletin to as many drivers as possible to help mobilise the 'yes' vote. We'll also be giving the bulletin to other workers on the Underground.
Can you help out? You don't have to be an RMT member, a tube worker or a member of Workers' Liberty to get involved - just someone who believes in workers' rights and wants to support workers standing up to their bosses. We'll meet at Kings Cross WH Smith at 12pm and take it from there. Copies of the bulletin will be available on the day but if you want to read it in advance, or print some off for yourself, it's at www.workersliberty.org/system/files/tw110410.pdf.
