RMT is balloting drivers at West Ruislip and White City depots for strikes to win Dean Storey his job back.
Dean had a SPAD at White City, but was unjustly sacked after a perfunctory CDI dismissed or ignored the many mitigating factors Dean's union reps raised.
Every union activists, and most LU workers who've ever faced company discipline, will recognise the story: a management that seems to have made up its mind before the disciplinary interview is even held, with no meaningful consideration given to mitigating factors and the result an apparent fait accompli.
If this kind of authoritarian discipline goes unchallenged, all of our jobs become less secure.
All West Ruislip/White City drivers should vote yes for strikes, and if their action fails to win Dean his job back, escalation should be considered.

Double standards indeed!

Disgusting double standards
While Dean is victimised for an honest mistake, an Area Manager (or should that be Area Molester) found guilty of sexual harrassment bordering sexual assault, gets a slap on the wrist and moved from the Jubilee line to the Bakerloo line in the same grade and role, still directly managing female staff!
Having made unwanted physical advances to two members of staff you would have thought he would be found to have 'fundamentally breached the trust' between employee and employer, as Management love to put it when they want to sack us! But no, like a priest he gets moved to a new parish to abuse again.
When LU looks as bad as the Catholic Church, a police force in the US or the BBC with a dodgy 70s DJ, then they must know something stinks!
