Welcome Baby George?

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

You can't escape the media frenzy surrounding the arrival of the Royal Baby....even on the Tube!

Baby blue posters, depicting tiny footprints, a pram and a TfL roundel inset with the name 'George' have been displayed all over our stations.

Strange that workers would be disciplined for writing anything political on a Customer Information Board, but Boris can use his position as Mayor to force his veneration for the monarchy onto London commuters.

We've got nothing against baby George himself. But we've got quite a lot against the idea that this tiny person will one day have the power to choose a Prime Minister (the fact that the monarchy doesn't generally use its power doesn't mean it isn't there).

During this frenzy for the unelected rule of a privileged elite, Tubeworker is proudly speaking up for workers' democracy!
