Battle of Bakerloo

As drivers in both unions continue to insist on a safe dtrainment procedures, management are playing games rather than facing up to the issue. Unfortunately for them, it's not working.

They've tried deep-freezing drivers by making us wait on the platform for trains that are probably half an hour away; sending squads of managers to give us the evil eye; and telling passengers there is a good service as trains arrive late and so packed that they can't get on.

Drivers are staying solid, though. There is too much at stake to allow irritations from management to break our resolve. This has become a staring contest, and if we don't blink first, they will. There is only so much time they can bear the grief, embarrassment and passenger anger.

All we need to do is hold the line, stand by each other, and get the word out to our workmates across the job and the passengers whose safety we are protecting.
