It seems that the agency that supplies agency staff to the ex-Silverlink stations has been somewhat tardy in handing them their wages. Adding insult to injury, we hear that it is the lower-paid grades who are having their wages delayed the most. Let's hope their landlords, supermarkets etc are understanding and allow them to be equally tardy in paying their bills - some hope!
This is disgraceful - if it happened to directly-employed London Underground staff, we would all be up in arms and probably out of the door. It is a measure of the precariousness of agency work, and the confidence of the cowboys who often run agencies, that this can even happen.
We should not have these agencies on the job - the staff they supply should be offered permanent, secure employment with LUL.
