It looks like another ...erm ... hiccup for TBTC, as the Jubilee has ground to a halt again. It's another weekend when the new signalling system is supposed to be showing us what it can do,and once again it is showing us that what it can do is... fail!
Management still seem to think they can go fully operational with it in a week or so's time. So how come most people who actually work here think that's a big joke?

I'm not so sure the system
I'm not so sure the system is the problem - personally I think it could be very good. It is paying billions to private companies whose first concern is shareholders and not the travelling public or end user, and LU not getting the system running properly and training staff adequately before running TBTC in customer service that is the problem.

As I understand it, the core problem was that TubeLines awarded the contract to install the new signalling system to Thales, before actually checking that the system Thales was offering met LU's standards. It turned out that it didn't, so there have had to be various modifications.
