Last week, the reaction to unattended packages on London Underground trains hit explosive new levels. Mid-afternoon on 28 January, the Metrolpolitan police bomb squad carried out a controlled explosion on a District line train at Wimbledon.
The station had been evacuated, but with the official terror alert raised recently, we should all be concerned about actions like this, and the least we should expect is some explanation and clarity from management.
The train was returned to service after a DMT saw no damage to the car in a visual inspection. Very reassuring.

More worrying
What I find more worrying about this is that LUL are refusing to raise their own security levels in accordance with the government (in my opinion to justify lack of staffing) I have access to an email from LUL head of security that actually states this is staying at the previous level) how many more lives are they willing to put at risk for the sake of a few pounds?

Spreading panic.
Whilst the DMT's Conduct is inexcusable, let us not forget the raising of the Government's security level has nothing to do with a real or perceived threat. It is everything to do with the forthcoming General Election, and trying to silence and scare the masses into submission.
