London Underground has sacked Mercy Odisi, Green Park SAMF and RMT rep, over ticket office irregularities.
But the real "irregularity" in the ticket office is LUL's ridiculous accountancy system. Under this silly procedure, introduced a couple of years ago, ticket sellers don't even count their money at the end of their shift! Instead, they sling it in a bag, it is collected by one private contractor, counted by another - and if there is any discrepancy between the account and the actual money taken, then it only comes to light a couple of months later, by which time the SAMF will find it very difficult to explain. Never mind the injustice, LUL then puts them in the dock!
Quite a few MF staff have fallen foul of this and got into disciplinary trouble, but until Mercy, had not been sacked. The fact that Mercy is a black, female trade union rep is, of course, nothing whatsoever to do with this.
LUL's recklessness with both public money and workers' jobs is an absolute scandal. RMT and TSSA have objected to the accountancy system through the formal procedures, but to no avail - now it is time to go public about the hundreds of thousands of pounds that LUL is losing, and to fight the injustice against Mercy and demand her reinstatement.

The management tried the same before with another SAMF, who was also black and the RMT local rep who sadly passed away. A certain manager asked the supervisors to give him any dirt they had on her.
This was raised at a meeting with the then GSM, who basically said " I don't believe you but I will investigate the matter" and the manager was cleared but lost his position as THE HARASSMENT ADVISER.
They'll try to hang anyone they can down there for anything.
