Defend Jerome Bowes

Anti-Victimisation Disputes

It's amazing how a member of staff can be a victim of an assault yet LUL management treat them as the villain.

That's the fate that has befallen Jerome Bowes, CSA at Elephant & Castle. LUL has sacked Jerome, following an incident in which he witnessed a vilent fight between two passegers and was then himself assaulted. Having had an earful of verbal abuse, Jerome was retreating to a place of safety when he got a punch in the back and turned round to defend himself.

The Met police allowed the assailant to walk away scot free, but Jerome has lost his job.

This is a shocking and huglely unfair sacking. What do management think - that we should all just stand on the gateline allowing ourselves to be punchbags?

Jerome's workmates are preparing for a strike ballot to demand his reinstatement. They deserve everyone's full support.
