Targeting Ticket Offices

Central line

On Greenford group - and maybe elsewhere - management have altered the targets for revenue activity, taking the emphasis off actually selling tickets and shifting it towards encouraging customers not to do so.

Management have brought in a new target, the Ticket Selling Index. The credit you get for ticket sales (even Oyster!), has been slashed, and you now get big Brownie points for explaining to customers how to get their tickets anywhere other than an LUL ticket office.

This target appears to make it company policy to drive our customers away and do ourselves out of a job!

While LUL claims to have withdrawn its ticket office closure programme, this adjustment of targets is just another piece of proof that they have every intention of bringing it back. Tube workers and our unions must not sit back and wait for them to do so - we need to be out campaigning in defence of ticket offices.
