You may have read previously on Tubeworker's blog - or in our sister publication, Off The Rails - about the disgraceful redundancies of GrantRail workers on the TubeLines contract. TubeLines and GrantRail agreed that they wouln't take on other contract workers to do jobs that the redundant workers could do - they would first offer the work to those who have just lost their jobs.

Well, it seems that you can't trust bosses as far as you can throw them, and sub-contractors have been taken on for protection duties. A stiff letter is winging its way from RMT HQ, but if this does not do the trick, industrial action should do.
