DLR: Pay Offer Accepted
DLR workers have accepted the company's pay offer, but with a significant minority against and a notable lack of enthusiasm.
With 142 in favour and 76 against, more than one-third opposed the deal, despite its recommendation by RMT's National Executive. Plenty of rank-and-file workers could see that tying ourselves into a three-year deal is fraught with danger, and that the year-on-year increases could turn out to be not as good as they might look.
Those 76 people (and everyone else!) should get active in the union, so that in future, members can make it clear to the union that a pay offer like this is not good enough and that they are prepared to fight for more.
