Ticket machine training for station staff is going terribly. With less than three weeks to 3 April, over 55% of people who require TMS training still haven’t being trained. One thing that will make training much harder is that SAMFs who are currently training others, also week by week more and more of the voluntary severance staff-many with years of ticket office experience- who can provide cover for training leave.

Meanwhile, many staff have been dismayed to discover that the additional weekend rest days added into rosters at the beginning and end of blocs of cover weeks have not appeared in their duty sheets. These provided some much-needed weekend rest days to some pretty dreadful rosters and partly offset the work-life problems caused by not knowing your rest days until just 28 days before. These additional rest days were won through strikes and the threat of strikes... drawn your own conclusions!
